For SoundCloud's 'First on SoundCloud' series, we profiled Kelow LaTesha. A DMV artist whose unorthodox sound and persona-driven performances have been quietly reshaping what the platform can hold.

We built the piece around her creative world. The influences that shaped her, the studio process behind the music, and the personal experiences that give it weight. Vérité coverage, intimate close-ups, and footage pulled from real locations and rehearsals kept the narrative grounded and honest. Nothing constructed that didn't need to be. What drives the narrative is Kelow herself. The way she moves between personas with intention, the regional identity embedded in everything she makes, and the kind of radical authenticity that doesn't perform for the camera so much as it absorbs it.

The goal was straightforward: give an emerging artist a visual platform as distinct as her voice, and let that do the work of broadening her audience. The DMV has always had its own frequency. This film just turns it up.
